Personal Care Services

Staying healthy and active contributes to a more fulfilling life. At North Lambton Lodge we take pride in offering Personal Care Services tailored to support your well-being.

Medication Management

Our professional team of nurses, attending physicians and pharmacy consultants will work together to ensure your medication needs are properly supported and monitored.

Continence Care

Continence care is a vital aspect of quality of life and critical to supporting independence and dignity. At North Lambton Lodge our trained team can help you maintain your dignity and support your continued active mobile life by developing an individualized continence plan for you.

Comfortable products are provided to Elders after careful assessment of the right product for your specific needs.

Falls Prevention

Our Falls prevention team will assist you in determining ways that you can prevent a fall from occurring. A review of your footwear, making sure you know how to transfer safely and use any adaptive aids available will be included in your prevention plan. We can also arrange an assessment for any mobility equipment and/or restorative devices you may require. Recreation &  Leisure staff can make a referral for occupational therapy or approval process through the Assistive Devices Program. Adaptive aids can help independence.

Pain Management

We understand that pain is complex. At North Lambton Lodge our interdisciplinary team uses an individualized pain management approach that encompasses more than just traditional pharmacological approaches.

Non-pharmacological approaches to pain management such as exercise, stress reducing activities and physiotherapy are also encouraged.

A trained geriatric pharmacist is regularly on site and assists with the most effective approach to pain management.

Non-pharmacological integrated with assistive devices and other assistive aides.

Behaviour Support

Our interdisciplinary staff are trained to provide enhanced services to meet the needs of Elders who are struggling with and demonstrating challenging behaviours as a result of dementia, neurological conditions, mental health or brain injuries.  These unique services can take the form of programs, such as an individualized music therapy; staff partner with local agencies (i.e. Alzheimer’s Society & Canadian Mental Health Association) to ensure all resources are available to enhance quality of care and life for Elders.

Our staff are specially trained in a variety of ways to support both you and your family if you need palliative or at end of life care. Specific areas of the home and resources are provided to you and your family at this time.
