The Villa Auxiliary

Active for more than 50 years. The Villa Auxiliary is made up of dedicated volunteers that raise funds for the Home and provide assistance with resident comfort and care.

Monetary donations, fundraising efforts and volunteer time enables the Auxiliary to support special projects and programs that otherwise would not be possible.  Donations support innovative care, access to restorative and therapeutic equipment and programs that improve the quality of life for residents and their families.

Since its inception in 1957, the Auxiliary has donated over half a million dollars and has made numerous contributions to the Home, including:

  • Annual funding for special occasion bus trips to see fall colours, Christmas lights and attend community outings
  • Palliative Care family room and furnishings
  • Therapeutic Gardens
  • Recreational and therapeutic equipment
  • Holiday gifts, musical entertainment and weekly ice cream days

Volunteer Opportunities
Activities include monthly luncheons, evening card parties, delivering flowers for new residents and resident birthdays, assistance with community outings, wrapping and distributing holiday gifts, and various fundraising activities such as selling tickets for 50/50 draws, pie making, and special events.

Membership
New members are always welcome.  Fees include a voluntary $1.00 collection at each meeting.
Meetings: the 1st Monday of each month (except July and August).
