Summer Student Employees at the Villa

As summer ends, the Villa would like to thank our summer student employees for their dedication and hard work. Summer, Drew, and Taylor were students in various departments at the Villa, where they advanced their skill set and knowledge, developed professional networks and had fun as well. See below their experiences in their own word.

We would like to wish them all the best as they return to school this fall.

“During this summer job as the Business Administration Student, I have gotten the chance to work with some great people, learn lots of valuable skills which will help me in the upcoming school year, and most importantly, got to chat with the Elders every day. I hope to return to Lambton Meadowview in the future!”

“My favorite part of working for Lambton Long-term Care was spending time with the day program participants and Elders within the home. I feel the wise lessons and experiences they shared with me will stay with me for years to come and impact the choices I make. I also learned that laughter and positive thinking can brighter any situation or circumstance.”

“As the Recreation and Leisure Student, I have been exposed to greater aspects of the role and responsibilities of the Recreation and Leisure department. This position has allowed me to build trusting, stable relationships with the Elders who may be experiencing isolation. I have been able to increase Elder’s engagement, bring excitement and joy to many Elders through the meaningful recreation and leisure program that I have facilitated.”
