Meet Mary – Volunteer for the Villa

Mary is a retired medical receptionist who has volunteered at The Villa for almost 10 years. Mary grew up in Watford. Throughout her life Mary enjoyed activities like basketball, volleyball and baseball. Her first job was stocking shelves and managing cash at the local grocery store. Growing up Mary aspired to be a nurse or teacher. Mary currently lives in the Wyoming area with her husband of 38 years. She has three children and seven grandchildren. Mary enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening and volunteering along with assisting her husband on the farm. While volunteering at The Villa, Mary has taken on many roles including serving coffee, visiting Elders and assisting at the Adult Enrichment Centre. Mary thoroughly enjoys giving back and contributing to the community. When asked what she enjoys most about volunteering, Mary added she loves interacting with the Elders and staff and hearing information about their careers and lives.
