Jackie has been connected to The Manor as a staff member, family member and a volunteer. As a child, Jackie grew up in Sarnia, falling in the middle of a family of 7 girls! Jackie enjoyed spending her time outside in the summer playing sports, including baseball. As a teen, Jackie got a job at a local drive-in called Stewards Root Beer Drive-in. In her free time, Jackie enjoys spending time with her family and friends doing activities, including shopping. In 2008 Jackie retired as Administrator of Marshall Gowland Manor and in 2018 became a member of The Manor Auxiliary. Jackie has volunteered for many events hosted at The Manor including parties, bazaars, and BBQs. During the height of the pandemic, Jackie also volunteered for Lambton Public Health’s large vaccine clinic. Jackie completes all the shopping for the tuck shop and is often found working behind the counter. Elders are happy to see her warm smile. When asked what she enjoys most about volunteering at The Manor, Jackie added she enjoys socializing with the Elders, spending time providing company and friendship. Jackie mentioned it makes her feel accomplished to be able to assist staff and Elders within the home. She strives to make the Home a more positive environment for everyone!
